As the developed world works to rid itself of the scourge of mercury, the developing world has become the location for industrial processes that release or emit mercury, as well as for production mercury-containing products. Links provided highlight issues related to ending practices that endanger workers, local residents and the environment through the use and release of mercury.
Financial support is provided through the Zero Mercury Campaign to NGOs from developing countries for national activities as well as participation at international level, to assist in the global campaign.
